My Philosophy

Have peace in the midst of challenges. Support others while improving yourself. Have fun.

I have 21 surviving siblings. There were 25 of us. My dad ALWAYS had a 14-passenger van.

If my dad could afford a bus, we would have had one. Smile. It was always a fun adventure as a child when her father took them to McDonald's for ice cream, and he would order 14 or so ice cream cones. So it was not a surprise when the response was, "Uh, sorry, our ice cream machine is down right now." However, when the ice cream machine was working, and we all received an ice cream cone, it was an exciting treat!

Books and bookstores are my happy place! I hope books never become 100% digitized.

Growing up, we were not allowed to watch television, so books were my gateway to the world and how I learned about others' lives. However, when I did begin to watch television, I never lost my love of books, the library, bookstores, the smell of books, and that nostalgic feeling one gets when one starts reading the foreword of a new book!

I had a 19-year-old dream of having a business and never acted on it because I thought I needed just one more degree and a certification for just about everything. However, I spent time researching and writing down my extensive business visions, dreams, and research findings. Then, one day I decided enough was enough! I started my business.

Not exactly a fun truth, but still valid. The funny part is that once I started, I went HARD! Although looking back, I'm laughing because, in a short three years, I had semi-mastered social media, trademarks, a podcast, a few clients, goals to NEVER work for anyone again, and a new faith in myself. Now, I'm more strategic and calculating, but moving forward just the same.

Growing up I watched The Sound of Music so many times I used to know it by heart.

Although we could not watch television, we could watch movies rated G. We used the watch the corniest movies, and I mean that fondly. Some were on repeat, and The Sound of Music was one of them. Today I mainly remember the phrase, "The hills are alive with the sound of music…."
